Get Ready to Rumble! (In One Room)

It's time to start talking, thinking, pitching and working "One Room", your short film project for this semester. We're going to be doing two things at once here:

1. Starting the brainstorming process for the film(s). We'll bounce around ideas in pre-production meetings and develop several potential projects as a class.

2. Exploring Set Heirarchy and Job Descriptions. We'll learn as much as possible about the roles, responsibilities and talents required for each of the jobs on this shoot, and you'll sign up for your job prior to starting pre-production.

This project will take up the remainder of this semester, so let's try to develop ideas for projects you'll really enjoy working on!

Free Movie Screening

Hello, everyone. There is a great opportunity to see "Adventures of a Teenage Dragonslayer." This movie was filmed in and around ABQ. Details and contact info below:

There will be two test screenings for "Adventures of a Teenage Dragonslayer" on Saturday, March 6 at the Student Union Building at UNM, downstairs in their movie theater. The times are 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

There is no admission fee and reservations will not be taken. All we ask is that the audience fills out their comment cards. We'd love it if any Indie Q people were free for this; we'd receive great benefit from comments from film savvy folk.

Lighting Workshop Tuesday afternoon---sign up

Barton Bond, CNM Film Instructor, will be conducting a lighting workshop at 1 p.m. this Tuesday, Feb. 23rd in the courtroom. He'll be using the pro-grade lighting equipment from the "Wild Justice" shoot to show students how to set up lights, C-stands, flags, scrims, silks and more. This is the professional version of what we've been learning/practicing for the last 2 weeks.

Sign up with Ms. T TODAY if you are interested in attending. Space is limited, and it's first-come, first-served.

"Wild Justice" Day 1 a success!

For those of you who missed it, the first day of shooting for "Wild Justice" was at times chaotic, exciting, and very informative. 12 students were cast as extras, and our own Sarina Ochoa was chosen to play a juror in this 'Dramedy' about a woman suing the NM Parks system over a squid attack. The shoot continues next Saturday; show up between 8 and 10 for a chance to meet the crew, get a look at the set, and maybe learn a thing or two!
