Next Year's Seniors: Sign up for an Internship!
“I want to be a Nurse” “I’m interested in running my
own Business”
“I’m
interested in Mechanics” “I want to help people”
“I’d like to learn more about
Dentistry” “I think I want to
work in TV”
Want to find out more about your future career
options?
Become an AHAHS Senior Intern!
If you’re interested
in gaining real-world experience in your chosen career field, and you’re
excited by the possibility of getting a ‘head start’ on volunteer and
professional experience, sign up for a Senior Internship!
What is the AHAHS Senior Internship Program?
Atrisco Heritage
Academy High School is proud to offer our on-track
Seniors the opportunity to work with Business, Industry and Community Partners
in a variety of career fields. Seniors
in the Internship Program spend 6 hours
per week off-campus at their
designated Partner Site, where they learn many of the skills, common practices,
and expectations of a given career field.
Students work directly with one or more professional mentors to investigate
the demands of their chosen career field.
Students have real-world responsibilities and opportunities.
How does the Internship Program work?
Students who enroll
in the Program will attend class with Ms. Thomas for the first 4 to 6 weeks of
the semester. You’ll prepare a resume
and cover letter, learn about Workplace Ethics & Etiquette, and research
possible placement opportunities.
Together with your teacher, you will choose a Partner Site and set up
your internship. You should transition
to attending your Internship off-campus,
instead of your on-campus class with Ms. Thomas, by the 6th week of
the semester. You will spend 6 hours per
week at your Internship Site, and will be assigned an AHAHS Teacher Supervisor
to assist you. Your Internship continues
through the 17th week of the semester. You must provide transportation to & from
your Internship.
How long does the Internship last?
You can participate
for one or two semesters. All students
are encouraged to continue their Internship through 2nd semester.
What do I need to do if I’m interested?
Check with your
Counselor to make sure you are on-track
to graduate. Only on-track Seniors are eligible for the
Program. Once you’ve registered for the
class, see Ms. Thomas in D111 to discuss your area of interest.

Hello All! Hope you had a great 3-Day weekend! We're having to make some changes to our script, and hence our Production Schedule, so today will look a little different:
- We'll watch the Academy Promos that your teams created last week. Nice job!
- We'll grade the reading questions that you completed on Friday.
- We'll ALL read the script rewrites and begin planning Production. Art Dept. will need to create 2 new set sketches (including Dec and Props), Camera Dept. will have to devise lighting plans and Storyboards, and Talent will have to rehearse new dialogue.
